Day 17 - Dana - Tatopani - Sikha (1930m/6332ft) November 15, 2001

Tatopani 1100m/3609m, meaning hot water in Nepali. This Thakalis, Magar and Gurung town is famous for its hot springs which cost only 20RS to use |

We first spotted this dog way back in Kagbeni. Lucky fella seems comfy ontop of a mule |

Just after Tatopani we cross the Kali Gandaki river and say goodbye to it as we move east-south into a forest zone and begin a long, hot ascent. |

For the remainder of the day we had nothing but uphill to camp on this mountain dubbed Gurung Hill. Virtually the whole way the path is a series of un-evenly spaced stone steps |
