Anxious to get
the hell out of Kathmandu before anymore people are felled by a
g.i. bug
(like me)
I wonder if

160km and 40
minutes later we arrived at Lukla, 9400ft/2850m on April 5
via Yeti Air.
.......................................
The flight was quite memorable...a quick ascent to 13,000ft in an
unpressurized cabin. I'm sure Danielle won't forget that flight (or
maybe she wants to forget it) |

Just off the
plane, controlled chaos as porters are assigned for our bags |

The trek started
with an easy 3 hr, mostly downhill trek from Lukla to Phakding |

Here was our
first campsite, at Phakding, 8700ft/2650m.
It was an easy 3 hour hike from Lukla, mostly downhill. The huge World
Expedition group snagged the site we wanted (bottom left). |

This was the
first of many suspension bridges that we would cross over the next
2 weeks |

Campsite at Phakding...a
little worse for wear after our first day of trekking |
