Ama
Dablam 6856m/22,493ft is featured prominently during the trek
to Dingboche. Not the tallest mountain but arguably the most
asthetically pleasing. It's the Machhupuchre of the Everest
Trek or is Machhupuchre the Ama Dablam of the Annapurna treks? |

Porters carry
at least 35kg, usually more as they get extra pay for heavier
loads (that's my kit bag at the rear) |

We awoke to find
a nice blanket of snow at our Dingboche campsite (14,350ft
/ 4375m). Soon the intense sun would melt away the snow. Nice boots
Monika!

This morning was a banner one for me. First a bird drops a load right
on my thigh, next I drop my toothbrush over one of the stone fences
and then I topple part of the fence in a bid to retrieve my toothbrush. |

This friendly
little fella followed us from Tengboche. Melissa, Monalisa and myself
ensured she was fed during her stay with us. |

Taking an acclimatization
hike west down the valley towards Chunkkung; the following
week the Island Peak aka Imja Tse climbers would head
down this way towards Imja Tse Base Camp |
