4, 2006: Day 7 - Day
2 on the Río Pacuare

A
hearty breakfast to start our 2nd day of rafting on
the Río Pacuare
|

The
route along the Pacuare is 30km long, going through
52 rapids taking 4hrs.

On
this 3rd day of rafting we went through class 4 rapids.
Pretty exhilirating.

This
isn't the point where I fell out of the raft. Yes, I
was the only one to fall out in 3 days of rafting, right
in the middle of some rapids. Remembering the training
I did my best to keep my feet pointed downstream as
I was swept through rapids, feet smacking rocks. They
fished me out in less than a minute and Bethany rescued
my paddle which I held onto intially while shooting
through the rapids. Later on during the lunch break
we saw the river is populated with Machakas, relatives
of Pirhanas!
