November
6, 2006: Day 9 - Monteverde
|

The
We spent the morning at the famous Reserva Biológica
Bosque Nuboso Monteverde (Monteverde Cloud Forest
reserve). This area is one of the premier tourist
destinations in Costa Rica. Our guide Roberto
gave us an informative 3hr guided tour of the forest.

Thanks
to Roberto's telescope we were very fortunate to see
the much sought after bird, the Quetzel. The
national bird of Nicaragua, bird watchers flock to the
Monteverde cloud forest hoping to catch a glimpse of
it.

grow in all directions.

That
afternoon Elliot, Erik, Bethany, Diana and myself did
a zip line trip. There are many competing Zip line companies
in Costa Rica. We chose Sky Trek. 11 zip lines taking
2 hours to complete the course.

The
2nd last zip line was 800m long so everyone had to go
tandem to ensure no one would get stuck part way down
the line.
