November
9, 2006: Day 12 - Lake Arenal kayaking
|
|
|
|
On
this day Julia and myself opted out of the 2nd (more
gruelling) day of mountain biking and instead we chose
to go flatwater kayaking on Lake Arenal. Diana and Nanhee
went canyoning so Bethany, Erik and Elliot went biking.

Laguna
de
Arenal
is the 2nd largest lake in Central America (after Lake
Nicaragua) and this lake was created in 1968 by the
damming of some rivers in a hydroelectric project. A
few small towns were sunk in the creation of this lake.
