Onelli lake and glacier

Ho, hum, another glacier on the mountain side as we approach Spegazzini

Spegazzini glacier was our final destination. This is the tallest glacier.

stats: lenght 25km. surface area 66km2. width 1.5km. height 80-135m

The glacier was named after an Italian botanist who studied flora in the area

 

Finally the sightseeing was over and the cruise that started at 9am would be over at 7:30pm. Along the way an Italian man imploded in a ball of fury and a few other arguments broke out over seating. Hit the afterburners captain!

Back in Calafate Brits Graham and Linda joined the Pumarachas for dinner at Rick's Cafe after we failed again to get a reservation at the best restaurant in town, La Tablita. Ashok was officially sworn in as our wine taster this night.
