On the way back to Cusco we stopped at a local "pub" where we sampled a local fermented drink called Chicha |

We were treated to a beautiful afternoon Andean landscape during the hour long drive back to Cusco. Here we reached an altitude close to 3700m.

The Andes are the second highest mountains in the world. The highest mountain in the Andes is Aconcagua, located along the Argentinian-Chilean border. It is 6962m/22,841ft high

The tallest mountain in Peru is Huascaran, at 6768m/22,204ft it towers over the highest mountains in North America. It is located in the Cordillera Blanca region of Peru which has some of the finest scenery and best climbing/trekking in Peru. The area contains the largest concentration of glaciers found in the tropical world
